Bursts of color and style at New York Fashion Week spring-summer 2015
New York Fashion Week is making a splash right from the beginning presenting the collections of some of the most famous brands in the industry. Most fashion designers are proposing beautiful silhouettes that carefully emphasize the strong female personality.
One of the first shows at New York Fashion Week was presented by Monique Lhuiller. She filled the runway with beautiful shades of pale green, yellow and pink all taken from the Caribbean sunrise.
Known as the “red carpet sweetheart”, Monique Lhuiller brought into the spotlight cocktail outfits that highlight the feminine form. She completed her collection with silk dresses with floral applications and insistent to keep peplum in trends.
“The Spring 2015 collection is dominated by pastel colors specific to the Caribbean sunrise. This was my starting point when I chose the color palette. I wanted it to look shiny and bright”, said Lhuiller.
On the other hand for the young Jason Wu, next year’s fashion trends mean unspoiled beauty and sportswear. One of Michelle Obama’s favorite designers, Jason Wu, confessed that for the spring summer 2015 season he was inspired by strong women with an impeccable fashion style, which he wanted to celebrate. So, he created a minimalist collection with abstract prints in shades of white, black and navy.
Jason Wu sent out on the podium in New York clad models in backless dresses and pencil skirts, just above the knee, to show off those beautiful long and thin legs.
“The collection is based on the idea of entering into a new era of American sport, but also on the enhancement of textiles that reflect a familiar mood: a simple T-shirt and silk tracksuit pants”, explained the designer.
New York Fashion Week gathers big names in the field every year. Supermodel Naomi Campbell strutted down the runway in breezy outfits to the delight of the audience made up of Hollywood stars like Whoopi Goldberg, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj. David Beckham was front row at his wife’s delightful collection.
Diane von Furstenberg brought Cannes to New York. The French Riviera of the 50’s was the theme of her newest collection with its joyful prints. “The collection is inspired by France in the 50’s, by Picasso, Brigitte Bardot, Matisse, full of happiness and color”, said the designer.
However, the focus was on supermodel Naomi Campbell, who paraded in a colorful chiffon dress. In the crowd Paris Hilton, was also cheering on.
“It was beautiful. I loved Naomi Campbell, who was lovely. It was like paradise”, said Whoopi Goldberg.
On the other hand Victoria Beckham opted for a more conservative style this season. Apart from a few shirts and floral dresses, her collection is dominated by colors and discrete asymmetrical outfits.
Max Azria presented a romantic collection, with loose dresses and details inspired in Japanese kimonos. His ultra-sexy dresses celebrate the feminine silhouette. Delicate shades of orange and pink styled with Japanese prints are exactly what the bondage dresses needed.
Adriana Lima opened the Desigual show with a big smile and exuberant energy. Actress Katie Holmes and Hilary Rhoda were guest stars.
The Zimmermann sisters had very feminine and delicate pieces in their collection, while Felipe Oliveira Baptista, got some inspiration for his Lacoste collection from the fashion house archives: minimalist and sporty accents. This season, yachting is Baptista’s favorite sport.
The two designers over at Ostwald Helgason managed to bring German accuracy and craftsmanship in their spring summer 2015 collection.
Since in New York parties are a must, everybody in the fashion industry from fashion editors to models and photographers and designers, party away at stylish events every evening. Brian Atwood, the famous shoe designer hosted such a glamorous event on the 6th. New York never sleeps!
Fashion street style from New York: cool outfits from Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week is an event both on, and off the catwalk. This city is the perfect place to show off how an eclectic cultural mix can be implemented in clothing.
Eclectic Fashion Street Style
This style is ideal for the cosmopolitan fashionista! This year exuberant prints have migrated from the podium to street fashion. Pair these eclectic designs with a pair of Françoise Elizée Star Studs and glitz up your look, or add some charm with an Engraved Damballah Necklace.
Olivia Palermo’s street style is an impeccable source of inspiration. The star has learned over time to choose the most suitable clothes for her height, reinterpreting trends in a very personal manner. Add some femininity to this outfit by choosing a pair of chandelier earrings and a matching bangle. Take a look at Françoise Elizée’s Erzulie designs.
The new punk
This type of all black attire is modern and original for its simplicity and because it distances itself from the grunge and punk trend of the early 90’s. Rock up this outfit with an oversized ring and necklace. The Burst of Stars designs in silver finishing by Françoise Elizée seem to match this look perfectly.
Here are two simple fashion tricks that can fool the eye, making even the most experience stylists believe that you have longer legs.
Don’t forget about the mirrored sunglasses and the metallic bag. Check out The Sophisticated by Françoise Elizée, a double sided clutch in gold and metallic bronze leather.
Smart casual look
A mix and match style inspired in a casual Friday office outfit: classical elements on the top and rebel pieces on the bottom: distressed jeans and boot like sandals. Finish off this look with a 5 Star Necklace and a pair of Star Studs both in silver finishing from Françoise Elizée for a lovely, sweetheart effect.
This choice is simple for a woman who juggles her weapons of seduction: skirts and dresses. It is important to remove your look from the classic area and give it a fresh air with the coolest clothes of the moment: a cotton sweatshirt and sexy strappy sandals. Continue the feminine idea with an Engraved Papa Legba or Damballah Necklace from Françoise Elizée and you’re good to go.
